Who is Mountain Education, Inc. for?
Mountain Education, Inc. (MEI), is a
- non-profit,
- public charity (501c3),
- wilderness school
whose sole purpose since 1982 has been to be the
- Teacher,
- Coach,
- Athletic Trainer,
- Band Leader,
- School Nurse,
- Spiritual Mentor,
- Science Lab Assistant,
- Academic Advisor,
- Homework Tutor, and
- ever-faithful, Crosswalk Guard,
to the greater hiking community so that everyone can stay “out there” long enough, due to having the appropriate
- Knowledge,
- Wisdom, and
- Skills, to be Safe, Happy, and Empowered in the Wilderness Environment, all in order to,
- hear its call
- feel its comfort, and
- allow it to change their lives.
Everything we do is given freely that you might come to love and embrace this new way of life that John Muir called, “Sojourning!”
