PCT ’23, Snow Hiking Safety Virtual Google Meetups:
Friday, 2/24 at 6pm PST
Saturday, 2/25 at 10am PST
Sunday 2/25 at 10am PST
More snow is falling in the mountains of Southern California and along the famous Pacific Crest Trail!
PCT thru-hikers with the first permits will start within the week to find snow covering much of the trail above 3500 feet in elevation.
These free, 2-hour, live, Google Meet teaching and discussion sessions will focus on hiking in the current, snowy-trail conditions, how to stay warm and dry, make wise decisions in the cold, not get lost, and details regarding moving safely over snow.
Ned “Snowbi-Wan” Tibbits will be presenting very vital snow-travel safety information primarily for the PCT Thru-hikers, but anyone can attend to learn a thing or two!
These will be intense and very serious in tone. Hiking in the wet & cold is nothing to take lightly! Each session will be recorded, but take notes, anyway. Q & A to follow.
