“Ned Walk-3,” this Saturday!
The next Ned Walk-3 will be held on Saturday, 8/12/23, and will start at 0900 from the PCT-north trailhead and parking lot on Carson Pass, highway 88.
They are always free and everyone is welcome to join me as I explore another fun, short trail with a bit of history.
The object of these little “walks” is to explore, discover, and learn. They’re not even about getting to a particular destination or accomplishing anything in specific.
The only things I can guarantee to those who join-in will be:
– no pace
– no demands
– no hype
– complete flexibility
– frequent stops to learn something new
– lots of trail stories
– bits of talk about history, biology, geology, zoology, navigation, weather, camping, sanitation, LNT, cooking, snow-hiking, creek-crossing, long-distance hiking, the PCT, TRT, TYT, and, of course, gear!
Bring:
– lunch and snacks for a day-hike of 4-6 miles
– electrolyte-filled water for the day
– clothing for sun and thunder showers
– poles and shoes for irregular trail surfaces
– sunscreen, dark glasses, hat (you know the drill)
We are just a bunch of new hiking friends out for a walk!
